Reunite families separated by the Shoah (Holocaust)

As tools are developed to improve your experience using ShoahConnect, they will be listed here. If you have an idea for a tool, please contact us. These tools are all optional, and might not be useful for all users. By using any of these tools, you agree not to hold ShoahConnect or its creators responsible for any consequences of that usage. Highlight Yad Vashem Search Results This tool highlights Yad Vashem search results: blue, for Pages of Testimony associated with your ShoahConnect account, and orange, for Pages not associated with your account, but which you have viewed on Yad Vashem's website. This can be very helpful if you are researching many Pages of Testimony, or if you check Yad Vashem's website periodically for updates, since Yad Vashem does not permit searching by the date a Page was added to its search engine. This tool currently works only under Firefox (see here for instructions on installing the Google Toolbar and ShoahConnect's button in Firefox). To install the tool, you must first install Greasemonkey. Then, click here to install the tool (a Greasemonkey script). This tool is not supported under Internet Explorer.

After installing Greasemonkey and the highlighting script, visit Yad Vashem's website and select, from your Firefox menu, Tools > Greasemonkey > User Script Commands > Get list of PoTs from ShoahConnect for Yad Vashem highlighting. You will be prompted for your ShoahConnect account email address and password. After you enter them, the blue highlighting will be enabled (you could also use this tool just for the orange highlighting, without using ShoahConnect). The blue highlighting will be automatically updated whenever you associate yourself with new Pages of Testimony, so you should not have to do this "Get list" operation again. If you want to clear all highlighting, blue and orange, you can also find a Clear command in the User Script Commands sub-menu. To hide/show orange highlighting, use the Toggle orange highlighting command.
